Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar addressed concerns over the recent AI advisory, clarifying that it applies solely to significant platforms and exempts startups from its requirements. Chandrasekhar's statement comes in response to industry backlash following the Ministry's directive for companies like Google and Microsoft to seek government permission before deploying AI models in India.

The advisory, issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), raised eyebrows in the industry, prompting criticism from tech leaders like Aravind Srinivas and Pratik Desai. While Chandrasekhar defended the advisory as an "insurance policy" against potential legal challenges, questions remain regarding its applicability and implications for AI tool developers and users.
